Description: O' Fallahmhain Ltd, in cooperation with The Stationery Office, Dublin. I929. In blue cloth with black lettering on upper cover and spine. Near fine. In a very good, unclipped dust jacket. The first published translation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic 'as gaelige'. Translated by the F W O'Connell, a singular Irish scholar, essayist and early broadcaster who went by the pseudonym, Conall Cearnach (Conall the Victorious, a hero of Irish mythology) and was the author of The Fatal Move, a collection of weird tales, in 1924. A fascinating example of the expansion in the publishing of Irish language fiction in the early years of the State. In the original wonderful dust jacket with Mr Hyde looking like the Incredible Hulk!
